About me
My name is Chiara.
I've been practicing since 2018, when I was looking for "something to calm my mind." Since then, my practice has changed, and today I see the mat as a space to look at the essence of things, to fully inhabit the body to inhabit relationships with the world around me, to observe rather than perform.
I trained with L'arte degli aggiustamenti ("the art of adjustments") at Francesca Petrilli 's Centered Yoga Studio in Milan, which remains go-to place for ongoing practice and learning, a center of excellence for yoga.
I studied anatomy applied to yoga with Leslie Kaminoff and Amy Matthews (Yoga Anatomy Fundamentals, Principles, and Practices). I recently completed a movement embodiment programme with Emanuela Passerini. With her, I explored somatic practices and experiential anatomy inspired by Body-Mind Centering.
I practice with Lizzie Lasater and Mary Richards (Deep Rest and Somatic Strength) to deepen my knowledge of restorative techniques.
Yoga isn't my only job: I manage change in a large company. To do so, I research, facilitate groups and design services for people. Before this role, I worked for 12 years in training design. Languages, especially English, and linguistics are a passion of mine: I graduated in translation from Scuola Civica Interpreti e Traduttori "Altiero Spinelli" (a translation and interpretation school). I also speak Portuguese, Spanish, and a bit of French, in that order of knowledge. While it's not a bilingual project yet, Y is for Yoga aims to build an English-speaking community as well.

I'm an affiliate member of A.Me.Co., Associazione di Meditazione di Consapevolezza.
I love Milan and Manchester, my two homes. I like cats, books, English football, and afternoon naps, not in any particular order. To the typical question "sea or mountains?" I answer "the city."
